Milos Needs Space for General Aviation Amidst Sarakiniko Incident

A recent incident where a private helicopter landed at Milos's iconic Sarakiniko beach has brought to light a peculiar contradiction in the island's aviation facilities. While an unauthorized helicopter managed to land on a popular natural site, a small general aviation aircraft, attempting to land through official channels, faces difficulties due to the absence of a designated parking space.

The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) Hellas previously cleared and prepared an area near the airport that could accommodate about four light aircraft, preventing them from occupying the main runway.
