Mini martabak vendor robbed while sleeping, police collaborate to find suspect

A street vendor selling mini martabaks has become the victim of a theft while he slept beside his cart in Ciledug, Tangerang. Khoirul Anwar, the vendor, lost his bag containing cash and four mobile phones, including two set aside as birthday presents for his children.

The incident, which occurred during the day, was captured on video and circulated on social media platforms. Initial reports suggested the crime took place in Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta, prompting an immediate response from the local police. However, upon investigation, it was determined that the actual location of the theft was in Ciledug, Tangerang.

Despite the location discrepancy, the police are committed to resolving the case. The head of the Pesanggrahan Police, Commissioner Seala Syah Alam, provided Khoirul with some assistance and assured him that his precinct would collaborate with the Ciledug Police to track down the perpetrator. "Polsek Pesanggrahan together with Polsek Ciledug will collaborate to catch the perpetrator," Seala stated.

According to police findings, the stolen bag contained Rp 100,000 in cash and four mobile phones: a POCO C85, a Redmi 13C, an Infinix, and a Nokia. Khoirul confirmed that two of the phones were intended as gifts for his children, who are celebrating birthdays next month. The theft highlights the vulnerability of street vendors, even during daylight hours.
