Ministry of Justice responds to 'Rojin Kabaiş' claims: DNA analyses were performed

Turkey's Ministry of Justice has refuted claims that DNA analysis was not conducted on clothing belonging to Rojin Kabaiş, who is at the center of a death investigation. The ministry issued a statement addressing reports that the Forensic Medicine Institute had not collected DNA samples from Kabaiş's clothes or performed necessary biological examinations.

According to the ministry's statement, biological examinations and DNA analyses were indeed carried out on the clothing. Initially, the garments were sent to the Van Gendarmerie Criminal Laboratory. Following biological examinations there, a report was prepared. Subsequently, the clothes were sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute's Biology Specialization Department, where a detailed report was compiled.

The ministry detailed that numerous stain and swab samples were collected from various parts of Kabaiş's underwear, tracksuit top, and bottoms. These samples underwent comprehensive testing, including visual stain examination, human blood analysis, menstrual blood analysis, autosomal STR DNA analysis, and Y-STR DNA analysis.
