A critical situation unfolded when a two-day-old newborn, experiencing severe respiratory distress, needed urgent transfer from a hospital in Suwon to a specialized facility in Hwaseong. The journey, normally around 50 minutes due to the 14km distance, was compounded by heavy Friday evening traffic.

Facing the daunting prospect of delays, the ambulance crew requested police assistance. A patrol car arrived promptly, clearing the path for the ambulance. The police utilized their vehicle's public address system, announcing, "A newborn is being transported. Please move to the left and right." This appeal resonated with drivers, who, despite the congested roads, made every effort to move their vehicles to the side, creating a crucial lane.

Thanks to the swift police escort and the remarkable cooperation of civilian drivers, the ambulance reached the Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital in just 18 minutes. This significantly shortened travel time ensured the newborn could receive immediate medical attention in the intensive care unit.

I was lost about how to transport the newborn during rush hour on a Friday evening with heavy traffic. The baby was using an oxygen mask due to respiratory difficulties, and the doctor said the baby's condition was not good, so we had to transport quickly. The only person I could think of was a police officer.

The ambulance driver expressed profound gratitude in a comment on the police's YouTube video, stating, "I was lost about how to transport the newborn during rush hour on a Friday evening with heavy traffic."
