Miss Universe co-owner Rocha Cantú faces new arrest warrant for alleged money laundering

Raúl Rocha Cantú, co-owner of the Miss Universe pageant, is reportedly facing a second arrest warrant issued by Mexico's Attorney General's Office (FGR). The warrant alleges his involvement, along with two other businessmen, in illicit operations and money laundering.

This new warrant adds to a history of legal entanglements for Rocha Cantú. He has previously been accused of organized crime, arms trafficking, and hydrocarbon smuggling. The current allegations suggest his continued involvement in financial crimes, despite prior accusations.

Beyond his business dealings, Rocha Cantú's past includes a stint as Guatemala's honorary consul in Monterrey. He held this position until October 2025, when Guatemala's Ministry of Foreign Affairs requested his dismissal due to alleged administrative non-compliance. This administrative issue was reportedly accelerated by accusations of fraud related to Fátima Bosch's selection as Miss Universe 2025 representative, a pageant he has co-owned since 2024.
