Missing Israeli women in Vienna have left Austria

Two women from Israel, a 50-year-old mother and her 23-year-old daughter, who had been missing in Vienna for a week, have independently left Austria. The Vienna State Police Directorate announced their departure on Friday evening.

The police provided no further details, leaving unanswered questions about where the mother and daughter traveled, when they left, and why they were sought for days. Authorities emphasized that "according to current investigative findings, there are no indications of a violent crime."

The announcement highlighted the "excellent cooperation between the Vienna State Criminal Police Office, the Federal Criminal Police Office, the Directorate for State Security and Intelligence Service, the Vienna State Office for State Security and Combating Extremism, as well as Israeli and other international security authorities." The Israeli embassy in Vienna had also launched an appeal for information on social media and through press releases.

The women had arrived in Vienna via Prague and were last seen at a hotel in Margareten on August 7. Their relatives reported them missing on August 10 after losing contact. Reports suggesting the 50-year-old was a banker involved in a financial scandal were not confirmed by the police.
