Missing motorcyclist found dead in Miaoli farmland

Authorities in Miaoli County are investigating the death of a 26-year-old man whose body was found in a dense patch of weeds in a Tongxiao Township farmland. The man, identified by the surname Fan, had been missing for over ten days.

Fan was last seen riding his motorcycle on July 21. His family reported him missing the following day. On August 4, a member of the public discovered his motorcycle crashed in a field along Nanhe Road Section 2. However, Fan was nowhere to be found at the scene.

Later that evening, around 7 p.m., police received another report. Officers were dispatched to the farmland and found Fan's body concealed within thick vegetation. Preliminary observations at the scene did not indicate any collision with other vehicles or external force.

Police reviewed surveillance footage, which showed Fan riding his motorcycle eastbound on Nanhe Road Section 2 around 2 a.m. on July 21. For reasons yet unknown, he veered off the road and fell into the adjacent farmland. The Miaoli District Prosecutor's Office has been notified, and an autopsy is scheduled to determine the exact cause of death and the circumstances surrounding the accident.
