Mitsubishi Outlander to be Imported to Taiwan in September with Mild-Hybrid Powertrain

China Motor Corporation has confirmed that the highly anticipated new generation Mitsubishi Outlander will officially launch in Taiwan in September. This upcoming model represents a significant shift for the vehicle in the Taiwanese market, moving from its previous status as a domestically produced car to an imported one.

The powertrain will be a key highlight, featuring the latest 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system. This setup is designed to enhance fuel efficiency and provide a smoother driving experience through the Belt Starter Generator (BSG) technology, which assists with engine restarts and energy recovery during coasting.

While specific details on the exact launch date are still pending further announcements from China Motor Corporation, the company revealed this information during its 2026 Q2 earnings call. The new Outlander will be the facelifted version of the fourth generation, expected to boast updated styling with revised grille and bumpers for a more refined and dynamic appearance. It will also feature new 20-inch alloy wheels to further enhance its sporty look. The interior is anticipated to receive upgrades, including a larger 12.3-inch central touchscreen, premium leather materials, ventilated and massaging seats, and a Yamaha surround sound system for improved comfort and luxury.
