Mitsubishi Teases Redesigned Pajero, Emphasizing Off-Road Prowess and Refined Ride

Mitsubishi is gearing up for the return of its iconic seven-seater off-road SUV, the Pajero, with a major redesign. Recent teaser information highlights the vehicle's robust chassis and advanced all-wheel-drive system, promising exceptional performance across various terrains and weather conditions while maintaining a refined driving experience.

The upcoming Pajero will adopt the same ladder frame chassis as the new Triton, which has been retuned for superior off-road prowess. Coupled with Mitsubishi's renowned S-AWC (Super All-Wheel Control) system, the SUV aims to re-establish its reputation as a top-tier off-roader, balancing rugged capability with everyday comfort.

While interior details remain under wraps, Mitsubishi has confirmed the Pajero will retain its classic three-dial instrument cluster, now presented digitally. The cabin is expected to benefit from upgraded materials and technology, enhancing both comfort and convenience within its spacious three-row, seven-seat configuration.

Power is anticipated to come from the Triton's 2.4-liter turbodiesel engine, delivering 204 horsepower and 47.9 kg-m of torque. There are also rumors of a potential Ralliart variant, which could further boost off-road performance and evoke the brand's rally racing heritage. The redesigned Pajero is also expected to be imported to Taiwan.
