MMCA Gwacheon Celebrates 40th Anniversary with Teletubbies Collaboration

The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) Gwacheon is marking its 40th anniversary with a unique collaboration, inviting visitors to celebrate with the beloved children's characters, the Teletubbies.

The special event, titled 'MMCA Gwacheon 40XTeletubbies,' will run from July 14 to 29 at the Gwacheon branch. Throughout the event, the museum will distribute 200 limited-edition Teletubbies keychains daily on a first-come, first-served basis. Each keychain features characters like Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa, and Po, depicted holding art supplies.

MMCA Gwacheon will hold 'MMCA Gwacheon 40XTeletubbies' from the 14th to the 29th.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, visitors can interact with Teletubbies mascots for photo opportunities. These sessions will take place for three days, from July 25 to 27, against the backdrop of notable artworks like Nam June Paik's 'The More, The Better.' The photo sessions will occur four times a day, each lasting 20 minutes. A dedicated Teletubbies photo zone has also been set up at the museum's external entrance.

Furthermore, the 'Art Play Yard' located in front of the Children's Museum on the first floor will showcase various artworks inspired by the Teletubbies characters. MMCA Director Kim Sung-hee expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating, 'To celebrate the Gwacheon branch's 40th anniversary, we are collaborating with a globally popular character...'
