Shin Kyu-sik, a pivotal figure in the Korean independence movement, is increasingly recognized for his crucial role in planning the March 1st Movement and establishing the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea, according to scholar Sun Kezhi.

Through extensive contact with numerous Chinese materials, I have come to deeply understand the status and role of Shin Kyu-sik in Korean independence history.

Sun, a professor at China's Fudan University and a rare academic specializing in Korean independence history in China, stated that extensive research into Chinese archives has deepened his understanding of Shin's significant position and contributions. However, Sun also expressed regret that Shin's status and impact have not been adequately highlighted or studied.
