Model scout linked to Epstein found dead amid French investigation

Model scout Daniel Siad, who had professional ties to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, was discovered dead in his Colombes residence outside Paris. His death occurred as French authorities continued their investigation into multiple complaints against him and a suspected human trafficking ring linked to Epstein.

Nanterre prosecutors confirmed Siad's body was found Monday evening. The 69-year-old was discovered at his home in Colombes, Hauts-de-Seine. Local judicial police are investigating the cause of death, and an autopsy has been ordered. The official cause of death has not yet been announced.

Siad's lawyer, Menya Arab-Tigrine, stated that Siad died of a heart attack, though this remains the lawyer's assertion and not a formal forensic conclusion. Siad's death has not halted the wider investigation into alleged human trafficking and financial crimes within Epstein's network. Paris prosecutors affirmed the investigation will proceed with approximately 10 investigators working on the case.

Since the broad investigation began in February 2026, 24 women have come forward or been identified as victims or witnesses to alleged actions involving Siad or others. Siad had been under surveillance, including phone tapping, but Paris prosecutors stated the gathered information was insufficient to warrant his immediate arrest. He had not yet been formally interviewed by investigators before his death, though his lawyer indicated Siad had repeatedly requested the opportunity to provide his statement to French authorities.
