Mohd Yusla Ismail relies on development record for re-election in Johor polls

Mohd Yusla Ismail, the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Senggarang state seat, is banking on his track record of development and achievements since winning the constituency in 2022. He aims to retain the mandate in the upcoming 16th Johor State Election.

Many matters or problems that I have resolved in Senggarang, now many streetlights have been installed to ensure the roads here are not dark and make it easier for the people.

Ismail detailed his accomplishments during an interview, pointing to the installation of new streetlights that have improved safety and visibility. He also noted significant road improvements, including the repainting of road markings, and extensive cleaning and deepening of local rivers to prevent flooding. These efforts have reportedly made the rivers aesthetically pleasing and have kept the area flood-free this year.

Beyond infrastructure, Ismail emphasized the state government's commitment to resident welfare. He highlighted the distribution of aid through initiatives like the Johor Kindness Aid and assistance from the Johor Islamic Religious Council (MAIJ) funded by zakat payers. These programs ensure that the welfare of the constituents remains a priority.

The rivers here have also become better and more beautiful. When I first became a Member of the State Legislative Assembly (ADUN) Senggarang, even the lines on the road were not there. The drains here have also been cleaned to prevent floods.

Looking ahead, Ismail plans to focus on developing more affordable housing options for the large youth population in Senggarang. He views the anticipated three-cornered contest as a positive challenge, trusting the voters' intelligence in making their choice. Ismail is confident in BN's prospects, especially in Senggarang, and is working diligently to connect with all voters.

We have a lot of assistance that is always channeled to residents from the state government, including the Johor Kindness Aid which is an initiative of the Johor Menteri Besar and aid from the Johor Islamic Religious Council (MAIJ) through zakat payers.

With a majority of 3,912 votes in 2022, Ismail is targeting a larger mandate of 5,000 to 6,000 votes in the upcoming election. His campaign strategy involves extensive outreach across the Senggarang constituency, engaging with residents from morning till night, building on the work completed over the past four years.

Among the priorities to be continued is the development agenda that has not been implemented, especially the provision of more affordable housing. In Senggarang, there are many young people and they need affordable housing. So I will raise the issue of housing for this youth group.
