The target, Ermolaev, was reportedly unharmed, but his wife suffered severe leg injuries and remains in critical condition. Their teenage son was also injured but is not in danger.

Authorities are analyzing evidence, including the explosive device, to identify the person who placed it. Surveillance footage shows a suspect fleeing towards Beausoleil, a commune in the neighboring French Alpes-Maritimes department. A person detained on Wednesday was later released after necessary checks.
