Money transfers to Kyrgyzstan exceed $1.5 billion in six months

Kyrgyzstan experienced a significant inflow of funds through money transfers in the first half of 2026, totaling $1.5395 billion USD. The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that after deducting capital outflow of $150.6 million USD via money transfer systems, the net inflow reached $1.3889 billion USD.

The volume of transfers has shown a consistent increase since the beginning of the year, peaking in June 2026 with $292.1 million USD received, against an outflow of $35.5 million USD, resulting in a net inflow of $256.6 million USD for that month.

The majority of these transfers originate from countries within the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). In June 2026, 92.8 percent of incoming funds, amounting to $271.2 million USD, came from CIS nations. Only $20.8 million USD arrived from countries outside the CIS.

Conversely, capital is also being moved out of Kyrgyzstan, primarily to CIS countries, which accounted for $33.6 million USD or 94.6 percent of the outflow in June.
