Wildberries Founder's Net Worth Drops by $2 Billion in a Year

The fortune of Tatyana Kim, the founder of the Russian e-commerce giant Wildberries, has significantly diminished over the past year. Her net worth has fallen by $2.1 billion, bringing her total wealth down to an estimated $5 billion, according to the latest ranking of Russia's 20 richest women published by Forbes and reported by DW.

This substantial decrease in wealth comes amidst a challenging period for Wildberries, which has faced disruptions, including drone attacks on over 20 of its logistics facilities across Russia since mid-July. Despite these setbacks, Kim continues to hold the top spot on the list of Russia's wealthiest women.

Following Kim on the list are Elena Baturina, the widow of former Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov, with $1.3 billion; Lyudmila Kogan, the main shareholder of UralSib Bank, with $1.25 billion; and Ekaterina Fedun, daughter of former Lukoil co-owner Leonid Fedun, with $1 billion.

Collectively, the total wealth of Russia's richest women, as per Forbes data, has decreased by $6.8 billion over the year. Furthermore, the number of women on the list holding billionaire status has shrunk from nine to the four individuals mentioned. Notably, for the first time since the ranking's inception, no new names have been added, indicating a contraction in extreme wealth accumulation among Russia's female entrepreneurs.
