Moniepoint, Funke Akindele launch savings drive

Moniepoint Microfinance Bank has launched a new savings campaign, "One Step Ahead," in collaboration with popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele. The initiative aims to bolster financial resilience among Nigerians, helping them better navigate unexpected financial challenges.

The campaign coincides with the introduction of an enhanced suite of savings products. These offerings are designed to provide customers with greater flexibility in managing their funds while earning interest. Babatunde Olofin, Managing Director of Moniepoint Microfinance Bank, stated that the new solutions address key customer pain points, offering flexibility and competitive rates.

The product range includes Target Savings, which allows partial withdrawals without losing interest; Flexible Savings, permitting up to four monthly withdrawals; Fixed Deposit, offering interest upfront at rates up to 17.5 percent annually; and Save As You Transact, enabling automatic savings with unrestricted access to funds. The bank plans to leverage Akindele's widespread popularity, particularly her "Jenifa" brand, to promote a stronger savings culture across Nigeria.
