Montevideo's 'Día del Centro' event to feature Father's Day discounts and activities

Montevideo is set to host a special "Día del Centro" (Center Day) event from July 9 to July 11, 2026. This edition is uniquely themed around Father's Day, offering a variety of discounts and activities designed to attract shoppers to the city's central commercial districts.

The initiative, organized by Paseo Centro, will encompass businesses in the Centro, Cordón, and Ciudad Vieja neighborhoods. Participating establishments will present special promotions and discounts, encouraging residents and visitors to explore the area's offerings. Beyond retail savings, attendees can also expect to find gastronomic and cultural activities contributing to a lively atmosphere.

This year's "Día del Centro" is particularly timely as it precedes Father's Day, which falls on Sunday, July 12. The event aims to provide an opportunity for last-minute gift shopping and family outings before the official celebration.

To facilitate access, shoppers arriving by car will benefit from three hours of free parking at designated parking lots.
