More Than 4,000 Businesses Apply for Pertamina UMK Academy 2026

More than 4,000 Indonesian micro, small and medium-sized businesses applied for Pertamina UMK Academy 2026 before registration closed on Aug. 31. The total nearly doubled from the program’s 2025 intake.

Pertamina said the response reflected strong interest among local businesses in improving their capabilities and competitiveness. Muhammad Baron, the company’s vice president for corporate communication, said participants would receive both knowledge and direct support tailored to their business needs.

Applicants will now go through administrative verification and selection. Those chosen will enter regional training covering basic business management suited to their sectors. Accelerators and mentors will monitor participants’ activity and progress throughout the stage.

The enthusiasm of applicants shows the strong spirit of Indonesian small businesses to develop their enterprises.

Businesses that advance to the national program will receive more intensive support through four tracks: Go Modern, Go Digital, Go Online and Go Global. The program also includes sessions on Go Green and Go Aggregator.

Pertamina launched the academy in 2020 as part of its social and environmental responsibility work, with a focus on local communities and business groups. Baron said the curriculum would reflect participants’ different levels of readiness and aim for changes that are practical, measurable and lasting.
