Morena leader touts EL UNIVERSAL poll showing party ahead

Morena is leading its rivals in an EL UNIVERSAL poll, according to the party’s national president, Ariadna Montiel Reyes. She used the results to congratulate Morena members and attack former President Vicente Fox for meeting leaders of opposition parties.

Montiel said Morena had 35% support in voter preference, compared with 11% for the National Action Party, or PAN. The PRI and Movimiento Ciudadano each stood at 9%, while the Green Party and Labor Party registered 5% and 2%, respectively.

She also pointed to the poll’s opinion ratings, saying Morena had 8% “very good” and 48% “good” ratings. By contrast, she said the PRI received 44% “bad” and 15% “very bad” opinions. Montiel presented the figures as evidence that Morena had both the strongest electoral preference ahead of 2027 and the best public image.

She praised members who defend the party’s project in communities and said its struggle was for the welfare of Mexico’s people.

Montiel also criticized Fox over meetings with leaders of Movimiento Ciudadano, SOMOS and, in particular, PRI president Alejandro Moreno Cárdenas. “The people of power have always been together; they are trying to regroup, but fortunately the people of Mexico are conscious, brave and rebellious,” she said. She argued that voters recognize who is working for their welfare.
