Moro and Zucco Face Electoral Scrutiny Over Missing Government Plans

Two gubernatorial candidates, Senator Sérgio Moro in Paraná and Federal Deputy Zucco in Rio Grande do Sul, are facing scrutiny from the electoral justice system for failing to present their government plans, a document legally required for candidacy.

In Paraná, an opposing coalition has filed a complaint against Sérgio Moro (PL-PR), requesting an investigation into his candidacy's omission of a government plan, citing potential rejection. The coalition argues that the plan is crucial for social oversight of a candidate's commitments and for informed voting. Moro's team responded that the electoral law allows for documentation to be supplemented until August 15, the final registration deadline, and that this omission does not compromise his candidacy. They characterized the challenge as a "factoid" from a campaign struggling in the polls.

Meanwhile, in Rio Grande do Sul, the Regional Electoral Court (TRE-RS) has formally notified Federal Deputy Zucco (PL-RS) to submit his government proposal within three days, also under penalty of rejection. The court noted the absence of the proposal in his registration. Zucco's campaign protocolled the document later on Wednesday, complying with the court's order.
