Moroccan Midfielder Ounahi Nears Exit from Girona, Ajax Leads Chase

Moroccan international midfielder Azzedine Ounahi appears to be on the verge of departing Spanish club Girona during the current summer transfer window. Several clubs have expressed interest in his services, with Dutch giants Ajax reportedly leading the race.

According to Dutch newspaper 'Ajax Time,' citing Spanish radio station 'Cadena SER,' Ounahi views Ajax as the most appealing destination to continue his career, despite other offers and interests. The 24-year-old midfielder is also being monitored by English club Hull City and various clubs from the Saudi Pro League.

Ajax holds an advantage due to Ounahi's personal preference, potentially influenced by the possibility of reuniting with his former coach, Michel Sánchez. Sánchez managed Ounahi at Girona last season before moving to lead the Dutch team. Reports from Spain had previously indicated that Ounahi was among the players whose futures at Girona were uncertain, as he was not included in the squad for the club's recent match against Leganes.
