Moroccan Speaker Receives French Parliamentary Delegation

Rachid Talbi El Alami, Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives, welcomed a French parliamentary delegation to Rabat. The delegation included Naima M'Chou, Minister Delegate for Overseas Territories, Karim Ben Cheikh, a member of the French National Assembly, and Christian Cambon, a member of the French Senate. Their visit, from July 15-16, coincided with the 15th session of the high-level Moroccan-French meeting.

The talks centered on enhancing bilateral relations between Morocco and France, emphasizing the strong historical ties and mutual respect. El Alami specifically acknowledged and appreciated France's consistent support for Morocco's position on the Western Sahara issue, describing France as a "strategic and essential partner" for the Kingdom.

El Alami outlined Morocco's foreign policy, guided by King Mohammed VI, which prioritizes non-interference in other nations' internal affairs, respect for territorial integrity, and peaceful conflict resolution. He also briefed the French delegation on Morocco's development and reform initiatives, its parliamentary experience, and the role of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening bilateral ties. The Moroccan-French Parliamentary Forum was highlighted as a model of partnership and cooperation.

The meeting also served as a platform for exchanging views on regional and international issues of mutual parliamentary interest. The discussions underscored the ongoing commitment to deepening cooperation across various sectors.
