Moroccan women's football captain Ghizlane Chebbak honored for 100th international match

Ghizlane Chebbak, the esteemed captain of Morocco's "Lionesses of the Atlas," has achieved a historic milestone, becoming the first Moroccan female footballer to reach 100 international caps.

On Tuesday, Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, presented Chebbak with a commemorative jersey to celebrate her 100th appearance for the national team. This tribute underscores the federation's appreciation for her significant contributions to Moroccan women's football.

At 35 years old, Chebbak, daughter of the late player Larbi Chebbak, is a pivotal figure for the national squad. Her extensive experience, gained from successful stints with AS FAR (the Royal Army Sports Club) and professional spells in Spain and Saudi Arabia, positions her as a key leader.

Her individual achievements also include being named the African Women's Player of the Year in 2025. Chebbak's ambition remains focused on guiding the current generation of players to secure a continental title, leveraging her leadership and on-field prowess.
