Mother unknowingly passes son's fatal crash site while delivering breakfast

A mother in Maran, Malaysia, experienced profound grief when she realized the severely damaged vehicle she saw at a crash site was carrying her own son, who had died in the accident. Zaimizan Silong, 51, was on her way to deliver breakfast when she passed the scene of the collision, which claimed three lives.

She recounted seeing the wreckage and the covered victims, noting the car resembled one belonging to her son's friend. However, she dismissed the thought, telling herself it couldn't be her son, Muhammad Arif Daniel Mohd. Norsha’ari, 20. She later received a call confirming he was one of the deceased.

I saw the victims were already covered. I also noticed the car looked like his friend's car, but I denied it in my heart and told myself it wasn't my son. I never imagined the person involved in the accident was actually my own son.

Muhammad Arif Daniel, the second of five siblings, had left home the previous night to spend time with friends. He had asked his mother to wake him early as he needed to report for work as a contract employee in Chenor around 8 a.m. Zaimizan had assumed he had already left for work when she noticed his room was empty that morning.

"I felt weak. It turns out I had passed the place where my son died without knowing it," she said tearfully. The accident involved three vehicles. The other two victims were the driver and a passenger of a Perodua Myvi: Masitah Mohd, 59, and Salbiah Mohamad Sah, 76.
