Motorcyclist critically injured after dangerous overtaking maneuver in Germany

A motorcyclist is in critical condition following a serious accident in Kronach, Germany, caused by a risky overtaking attempt. The 50-year-old rider was attempting to pass a line of cars on the B85 federal highway when the incident occurred.

According to police reports, the motorcyclist was traveling at high speed and attempting to overtake a convoy of vehicles that he perceived as moving too slowly. However, the lead car in the convoy initiated a left turn, and the motorcyclist, who had not been seen by the driver, collided with it.

The first female driver in the convoy wanted to turn left and had overlooked the motorcyclist coming from behind at high speed.

The impact sent the biker flying through the air, and he subsequently crashed into another car before striking a utility pole. He sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital in Kulmbach. The driver of the car involved in the initial collision was reported to be in shock but otherwise unharmed. The accident led to the closure of the B85 for approximately three hours.
