Motorcyclist Erno Kostamo recounts serious accident, undergoes two major surgeries

Finnish motorcycle racer Erno Kostamo has shared details of a severe accident he experienced during the Isle of Man TT race. The incident occurred on Friday, leading to the race being red-flagged and Kostamo being transported to a local hospital, then to Liverpool.

Kostamo described the event on his Facebook page as a "serious accident" on the second lap of the Mountain Course. He revealed that he was in life-threatening condition but has since undergone two major surgeries on both legs. While the immediate danger has passed, he anticipates needing a few more operations to stabilize his condition. Information on his recovery timeline remains unclear, but he is focusing on progressing day by day.

The Isle of Man TT is known for its extreme danger, having claimed the lives of nearly 300 people throughout its history. Fatalities are a recurring occurrence, with an English rider, Daniel Ingham, dying during this year's time trials in late May. According to Wales Online, two other riders in different categories were also injured and required hospitalization alongside Kostamo.
