Muğla Fire Department Responds to 119 Incidents During Eid Holiday

Muğla Fire Department teams worked tirelessly to ensure public safety during the recent 9-day Eid al-Adha holiday, responding to a total of 119 emergencies across the province. Their duties spanned from firefighting to rescue operations, addressing issues like floods and traffic accidents.

Fires constituted the most frequent calls, with 67 incidents requiring intervention. The teams were particularly busy with open area and forest fires, as well as fires caused by electrical faults. Specific responses included 20 open area/forest fires, 20 electrical fires, 15 house fires, 9 vehicle fires, and 3 chimney fires.

Beyond firefighting, the department conducted 48 rescue operations. Animal rescues were the most common, with teams safely extracting trapped animals. Other rescue efforts included 7 traffic accident interventions, 5 instances of rescuing people, 5 instances of opening doors, 3 responses to oil spills on roads, and 1 gas leak incident.

Responding swiftly to adverse weather conditions, the fire department also managed 4 flood incidents, working to drain water and prevent further distress to residents. Throughout the holiday, Muğla's fire crews maintained a 24/7 presence, ensuring a safe and peaceful celebration for the community.
