Multi-vehicle crash on Vietnam's Dai Ninh pass causes 5km traffic jam

A serious multi-vehicle collision involving a cargo truck and two passenger cars has caused significant traffic disruptions on National Highway 28B, specifically on the Dai Ninh pass in Lam Dong province, Vietnam. The accident occurred around 5:15 PM on June 23, when the truck, traveling downhill from Da Lat towards Phan Thiet, collided with two cars ascending the pass near the No. 4 overpass in Phan Son commune.

The impact resulted in severe damage to the front ends of all three vehicles, including the truck and a 7-seater car that were in a head-on collision, with a 5-seater car scraping the side of the truck. The wreckage occupied most of the roadway on a sharp curve, making passage impossible for other vehicles.

Consequently, traffic backed up for over 5 kilometers on both sides of the accident site. Local police from Phan Son and other units from the Lam Dong Provincial Police are currently working to clear the debris and reopen the highway. The situation is exacerbated by recent directives from the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee urging enhanced traffic safety measures on National Highway 28B, particularly during the rainy season. The airport repair in Lien Khuong has also led to a surge in traffic on this route as travelers from Ho Chi Minh City use the highway to reach Da Lat.
