Murder Investigation Launched into Deaths at Vienna Clinic

The Vienna public prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into a former employee of a hospital emergency room following reports of a concerning number of deaths. The probe was initiated after colleagues flagged a suspicious cluster of fatalities within the department.

Internal reviews were conducted in response to the colleagues' concerns, but these initial examinations did not uncover any irregularities. Despite the lack of immediate findings from the internal checks, the prosecutor's office has decided to pursue a formal investigation.

Authorities emphasized that, at this stage, there is neither urgent suspicion of criminal activity nor sufficient grounds to order the pre-trial detention of the former employee. The investigation aims to thoroughly examine the circumstances surrounding the reported deaths and determine if any misconduct occurred.
