The second seeds secured their spot by overcoming a formidable challenge from the home team, Liang Wei Keng and Wang Chang, in a tense three-game semifinal that ended 21-19, 14-21, 21-19. "Returning to the China Open final and reaching a second consecutive final over two weeks is thanks to mutual trust. I trust Fikri, and he trusts me. We also always trust everyone in the team," Fajar stated in an official release from PP PBSI. The match saw the Indonesian pair face immense pressure from their opponents, who were playing in front of a home crowd. Despite winning the first game, Fajar and Fikri lost momentum in the second, leading to a decisive third game. Conditions on the court, particularly wind, reportedly played a role, allowing Liang and Wang to mount a comeback after Fajar/Fikri had established a lead. "After the score became tight, we refused to lose. We kept trying, one by one, and we succeeded," Fajar added.
