MVOT Offers New Job Opening for Three Positions with Nominal Salary of $96,608 and 40-Hour Week

The Ministry of Housing and Territorial Ordering (MVOT) in Uruguay has announced a new job opening for three legal advisors. This initiative seeks to fill crucial roles within the ministry, offering a competitive nominal salary of $96,608 Uruguayan pesos per month, which includes a base salary and additional compensation.

The positions are for lawyers, with a standard 40-hour work week, and are offered on a provisional basis for a duration of 12 months. The roles fall under the umbrella title of Legal Advisor and are designated for specific departments: the General Secretariat Directorate, the National Housing Directorate, and the National Territorial Ordering Directorate.

Essential requirements for applicants include a degree as a lawyer or a doctorate in Law and Social Sciences from the University of the Republic or a recognized equivalent institution. While not mandatory, the ministry also values postgraduate studies in Administrative Law, proficiency in computer tools like Word and Excel, and updated knowledge in various legal fields such as Civil, Labor, Procedural, Contracts, and Housing Law.

Key responsibilities for the legal advisors will involve providing counsel on contentious and legal matters within the ministry's purview, representing the ministry and the Executive Branch before the Judiciary and other oversight bodies, and drafting legal documents such as resolutions, reports, and responses to public information requests. They will also be tasked with developing regulatory projects, including decrees and laws, and advising on procurement, contracting, and leasing procedures.
