Myanmar President Visits VinFast Factory in Hai Phong

Myanmar President Min Aung Hlaing toured VinFast’s Hai Phong factory, examining the automated production lines and electric vehicles as Vietnam and Myanmar seek closer business ties.

VinFast Global Chairman Pham Nhat Quan Anh received Min Aung Hlaing and a high-level Myanmar delegation on the afternoon of September 4. He introduced the company’s production activities and electric vehicle range before the president visited the body welding and electric vehicle assembly workshops.

The tour focused on VinFast’s integrated manufacturing process, automated production lines and technological capabilities. VinFast said the Myanmar president praised the factory’s facilities, production processes and the quality of its electric vehicle models. He also learned about the company’s development from a domestic automaker into a brand expanding internationally.

VinFast said it had led Vietnam’s automobile market for 24 consecutive months and now operates in 16 countries. Its key markets include Indonesia, India, the Philippines and North America. The Hai Phong complex produces both electric cars and electric motorcycles and serves as one of Vietnam’s large-scale automobile manufacturing facilities.

The company described the visit as an opportunity to introduce Myanmar to developments in Vietnam’s automobile industry and explore cooperation in manufacturing, trade and green transport. VinFast said high-level visits to the factory, including those by former Indonesian President Joko Widodo, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev and Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, have helped expand potential cooperation in industry, technology and green transport.
