Myongji University Architecture Professor Lee Jun-seok appointed to accreditation review panel for Hong Kong University's architecture professional degree

Professor Lee Jun-seok of the Department of Architecture at Myongji University recently played a key role as a Board of Panel Member in the inaugural accreditation review for the Master of Architecture professional degree program at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK).

The intensive review process took place in Hong Kong from October 10th to 13th. Professor Lee was invited by the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA) due to his extensive experience as an international expert in architectural education. He collaborated with Professor Li Jianyue from the School of Architecture at Tongji University in China during the evaluation.

City University of Hong Kong is a highly regarded institution, ranking 63rd globally in the QS World University Rankings 2026. Its architecture program also receives strong international recognition, placing 197th globally, 40th in Asia, and 28th in China.

Professor Lee brings a wealth of experience to this role. He currently serves as a director for the Korea Architectural Accrediting Board (KAAB) and previously held the position of president of the Korea Association of Architectural Schools from July 2022 to June 2024. His international engagement includes representing KAAB at the Canberra Accord General Assembly and serving on accreditation review panels for numerous domestic and international universities.

Professor Lee's involvement in the HKIA and ARB joint accreditation review underscores the growing international recognition of Korean architectural education expertise. His participation signifies that the capabilities and experience of Myongji University's architectural education specialists are highly valued within the Asian architectural education accreditation framework.
