Nabil Fahmy Assumes Duties as New Arab League Secretary-General

Nabil Fahmy formally took up his duties as the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States on Wednesday. The official handover ceremony occurred at the General Secretariat's headquarters in Cairo, attended by Assistant Secretaries-General and senior staff.

Following the ceremony, Fahmy engaged with General Secretariat officials. He received comprehensive briefings on the latest developments concerning critical political files. Additionally, he convened a meeting with the Assistant Secretaries-General to outline priorities for the upcoming period and establish a working methodology across various sectors of the organization.

In his initial actions, the new Secretary-General signed official letters addressed to the leaders of Arab states, expressing his gratitude for the trust placed in him. He also sent letters to the Arab foreign ministers, signaling the commencement of his tenure and his commitment to the League's objectives.
