Nantes: Wedding Dress Fitting Turns Violent, Three Women Detained

What should have been a dream moment for a bride-to-be turned into a nightmare in Nantes, France, when a wedding dress fitting devolved into a physical fight. Last Thursday, a young woman, accompanied by her mother, visited a rental showroom to try on her gown. The situation quickly soured, culminating in a scuffle that led to the arrest of all three women involved.

According to reports, tensions had been simmering even before the appointment. The fitting was reportedly rescheduled, an alteration that allegedly angered the clients. This frustration spilled onto social media, with sharp comments directed at the shop, which did not sit well with the store manager.

When the appointment finally took place, the situation erupted. One of the protagonists claims the dress rental owner grabbed a rod used for hanging clothes, while another brandished a pair of scissors. Police were alerted and responded to the scene. Although no serious injuries were reported, the entire incident was captured on video. Both sides filed complaints, and the women spent the night at the police station.

The following day, the Nantes public prosecutor's office ordered the release of the three women. Instead of pursuing a trial, authorities decided to pursue penal mediation, a process allowing the involved parties to explain their actions and resolve the conflict outside of court.
