Natali Dizdar, Zagreb Philharmonic, Films... September Events in Sesvete and Stenjevec!

The "Zagreb Neighborhoods of Culture" project is set to enrich two more Zagreb districts, Sesvete and Stenjevec, with cultural programming throughout September. This initiative, organized by the Novi prostori kulture institution, will present two three-day programs: one in Sesvete from September 4th to 6th, and another in Stenjevec from September 18th to 20th. Admission to all events is free.

Following two successful previous cycles that attracted over 17,000 visitors, the third cycle aims to bring a diverse array of cultural content for all ages. The September lineup includes concerts, theater and dance performances for children and adults, film screenings, workshops, poetry readings, contemporary circus acts, environmental initiatives, and public discussions. The project involves over 200 artists across eight neighborhoods this year.

Musical highlights include a special dance-themed program by the Zagreb Philharmonic, conducted by Ivan Josip Skender, on September 5th in Sesvete. Popular singer Natali Dizdar will perform in Stenjevec on September 19th, following her recent sold-out concerts. The Zagreb Soloists will also offer an open-air performance on September 20th in Stenjevec. The ZET Orchestra will mark the start of the programs in each neighborhood with a march.

The theater and performance program boasts variety, with a special focus on children's content. Productions include "Pita moja mama imate li jedno jaje" (My Mom's Pie, Do You Have One Egg?) by Teatar Poco Loco, "Dnevnik uspomena moje bake" (My Grandma's Diary of Memories) by Teatar Puna kuća, and the interactive children's dance performance "Polygon" by Plesni centar TALA. For adult audiences, there's the "Operni cabaret" (Opera Cabaret) by Mala scena, which aims to introduce opera to young people in a fun, musical way, and "Ništa im neće bit'" (Nothing Will Happen to Them) by Kazalište Moruzgva, a play about a family and a marriage facing a crisis, starring Ecija Ojdanić and Frano Mašković.
