Natalia Fuster takes executive leadership at INAP, outlines management priorities

Natalia Fuster has taken the helm as the executive director of Paraguay's National Audiovisual Institute (INAP), aiming to build upon existing foundations and set new goals for the sector. Fuster, who assumed the role last Monday, expressed confidence in the institution's organization and her ability to continue its work.

"The processes continue. But I feel at home; the issues are not foreign to me. On the contrary, I will directly continue what was already being executed and, above all, start looking at our new goals," Fuster stated in an interview with ABC Color. She emphasized continuity while also looking towards future objectives.

Fuster has outlined plans for her first 100 days, with a vision for the next five years. A primary objective is to establish a participatory development plan, intended to span 10 years and align with the National Culture Plan 2050. This initiative aims to produce the "first National Audiovisual Plan," which will guide the revision of the institutional strategic plan through sector-wide participation.

Another significant priority for Fuster is education. She intends to advance the creation of a National Cinematography School, or a similar institution, with a university-level standard to ensure accessibility. Fuster plans to collaborate with existing national stakeholders and international experts to develop a cutting-edge program within Paraguay. She also highlighted the potential for partnerships with renowned film universities in nearby regions.
