National Amputee Football Competition Becomes a Stage for Spirit and Achievement

The rhythmic sound of crutches hitting the field, combined with the unwavering spirit of the athletes, marked the opening of the 5th National Amputee Football Competition in Bogor, Indonesia. Held from July 24-26, 2026, the tournament, themed "Beyond the Goal," is more than just a contest for victory; it is a stage for disabled athletes to demonstrate their skills and vie for a place on the Indonesian national amputee football team.

The Indonesian Amputee Football Association (PSAI) organized the competition, which serves as a vital platform for disabled athletes to hone their abilities and showcase their playing quality at a national level. Beyond competing for the championship title, participants are also being evaluated for selection to the national squad. The PSAI hopes that this national competition will spur the development of amputee football athletes and enhance public awareness and support for disability sports in Indonesia.

One of the matches featured Syaiful Anwar of Persaid Jember competing against Dodi Irawan of Persakabo Bogor. The event highlights the dedication and passion within the amputee football community, emphasizing that the sport provides a crucial avenue for athletic expression and national representation for individuals with disabilities.
