National Flag Raising Troop trains for Pancasila Day commemoration

Members of the 2025 National Flag Raising Troop (Paskibraka) have reconvened in Jakarta for crucial training and preparation leading up to the commemoration of Pancasila Day on June 1, 2026. The gathering marks a warm reunion for these young individuals from various regions who previously served during last year's Indonesian Independence Day.

The training commenced with registration and health checks on Saturday, May 23, 2026, followed by the official opening ceremony. Yudian Wahyudi, head of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP), highlighted the significance of Pancasila Day as a moment to reinforce national values among the youth. "Pancasila is not just for memorization, but for practice in daily life," Wahyudi stated in a release on Sunday.

Wahyudi stressed that the role of Paskibraka extends beyond marching drills. He emphasized that they are expected to be exemplars of good conduct, discipline, unity, and dedication to the nation. "Being a Paskibraka means being an example in attitude, an example in discipline, an example in maintaining unity, and an example in the spirit of service," he added.

Adhianti, BPIP's Deputy for Education and Training, clarified that the assignment of Paskibraka members for Pancasila Day is a formal state mandate, as stipulated by Presidential Regulation No. 51 of 2022. "The assignment on Pancasila Day is not merely a ceremonial activity, but a formal state mandate inherent in the Paskibraka program," Adhianti explained. She noted that Paskibraka members are officially considered 'Purna Paskibraka' (graduates) only after successfully completing their duties on Pancasila Day.

The opening of the training was concluded with a 'tantingan' (a form of affirmation) led by BPIP Deputy Head Rima Agristina. During this ceremony, all members reaffirmed their readiness to undergo the education and training before entering the central training dormitory, known as Desa Bahagia. The participants stood tall, declaring their commitment to their duties and to strengthening the application of Pancasila values within the community.
