Nationally Wanted Man Leads Police on High-Speed Chase, Crashes Car, Found with Drugs

A high-speed police chase on Romania's A2 highway concluded dramatically when a 26-year-old man, already wanted nationally, crashed his car and attempted to flee on foot. The incident began when traffic police attempted to stop the driver, who ignored their signals and accelerated, initiating a pursuit. The chase ended violently at the intersection of the A0 and A2 highways, where the suspect lost control of his vehicle, crashing into barriers and overturning. Despite the severe impact, the man exited the car and jumped over a guardrail, but his escape was short-lived as officers quickly apprehended him. A search of his vehicle revealed a significant quantity of suspected drugs, including cannabis and amphetamine, along with associated paraphernalia. The suspect was also found to be driving under a preventive arrest warrant issued by the Ialomița County Police Inspectorate for theft and driving without a license. Biological samples were taken at the hospital to determine if he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the incident. A female passenger in the car sustained injuries and required medical attention, with both individuals transported to the hospital.
