NDDC MD briefs Tinubu on legacy projects ready for unveiling

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is making significant strides in delivering on its mandate, with Managing Director Dr. Samuel Ogbuku presenting a progress report to President Bola Tinubu. The briefing focused on the completion of key legacy projects across the Niger Delta region, underscoring the Commission's commitment to President Tinubu's "Renewed Hope Agenda."

President Tinubu has charged us to complete all legacy projects for the benefit of the people of the Niger Delta region.

During the meeting at the State House in Abuja, Dr. Ogbuku showcased tangible outcomes of the NDDC's efforts, including the 650-bed Niger Delta University hostel complex in Amassoma, Bayelsa State, and an electrification project in Oron, Akwa Ibom State. These projects are poised to directly benefit the people of the Niger Delta, addressing critical needs such as student accommodation and essential infrastructure.

The NDDC chief extended a formal invitation to President Tinubu to commission these completed projects, viewing them as a testament to the Federal Government's dedication to sustainable development in the region. He emphasized that several other landmark projects are in advanced stages and nearing completion, signaling a robust pipeline of development initiatives.

The new hostel will not only provide comfort and security but will also reduce stress, enhance concentration, and boost academic productivity among students who will now reside within the university premises.

Dr. Ogbuku also provided an update on collaborative efforts, including the 70.75 km Omadino-Okerenkoko-Escravos Road and bridges in Delta State, undertaken in partnership with the Delta State Government and Chevron Nigeria Limited. The NDDC, established in 2000, continues its core mandate of fast-tracking development in the oil-rich Niger Delta, covering nine states.
