NDPHC backs governance reforms to improve electricity supply

The Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) is actively reinforcing its corporate governance and operational efficiency as part of a broader strategy to enhance electricity supply across Nigeria. This initiative is underscored by the recent appointment of two new executive directors, Patrick Obahiagbon as Executive Director for Strategy and Commercial, and Chukwuma Umeoji as Executive Director for Corporate Services.

Jennifer Adighije, the Managing Director and CEO of NDPHC, welcomed the new directors, stating that their appointments, made by President Bola Tinubu, are crucial for accelerating the company's strategic objectives. These appointments are framed as part of the Federal Government's commitment to improving the company's performance and driving reforms aimed at nationwide electricity supply improvements. Adighije expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for selecting individuals with demonstrated expertise to advance NDPHC's vision.

Adighije highlighted that these appointments represent a significant milestone in the company's transformation agenda. The CEO emphasized the importance of strong leadership, teamwork, and collaboration in achieving NDPHC's mandate, which includes boosting power generation, expanding transmission infrastructure, reinforcing distribution networks, and harnessing stranded generation assets.

The experience of the new executive directors is expected to complement the existing management team, enhancing NDPHC's capacity to deliver on its mandate in line with the Federal Government's "Renewed Hope Agenda."
