Nearly 30,000 prospective cooperative managers undergo training in Indonesia

Indonesia is preparing a large cohort of cooperative managers, with nearly 30,000 candidates for the Merah Putih Village/Neighborhood Cooperatives (KDKMP) commencing intensive training and certification. The program, held at the Armed Forces Artillery Education Center (Pusdik Armed) TNI AD in Cimahi, West Java, marks a significant step in developing human resources for village-level economic development.

This managerial and certification training is a continuation of earlier programs focused on character building, discipline, leadership, and national defense, overseen by the Ministry of Defense. The current 13-day training, from July 17 to July 29, 2026, is spread across numerous training centers and classrooms, involving 29,830 participants.

Minister of Cooperatives, Ferry Juliantono, officially opened the training, emphasizing its goal to cultivate managers who are not only professional and competent according to national standards but also possess strong character. "After their previous efforts in receiving national defense training and so on, today we are participating in training to strengthen financial management, cooperatives, and various other aspects," Juliantono told reporters.

The curriculum comprises 90 study hours, divided into 12 modules and 42 topics, with 10 modules directly related to the KDKMP manager certification competencies. The comprehensive program aims to equip these future managers with the necessary skills to effectively drive the village economy, with final certification exams scheduled for July 30-31, 2026.
