Nepal facilitates return of citizens stranded in China after Rasuwa flood

Nepal is actively working to bring home its citizens who became stranded in China after a severe flood disrupted the border area. The devastating flood in the Bhotekoshi River on August 26 caused significant damage, cutting off access between Nepal and China and leaving some Nepali nationals on the Chinese side.

In response, the Nepali Embassy in Beijing has issued a formal notice. It urges all Nepali citizens affected by the border disruption to contact designated officials. This measure aims to coordinate efforts and provide necessary assistance for their safe return to Nepal.

The embassy has shared contact information for key personnel. These include Yubaraj Chhetri from the Nepali Consulate General in Lhasa, and Sanju Maharjan and Rajkumar Sah from the Nepali Embassy in Beijing. These individuals will be responsible for liaising with stranded citizens and facilitating their journey back home.

The government's swift action underscores its commitment to its citizens abroad. The focus is now on ensuring a smooth and safe repatriation process for those affected by the natural disaster and the subsequent border disruption.
