Nepal flood victims rescued; 28 police officers missing

Rescue operations in Nepal have successfully saved 1,545 individuals who were caught in the devastating Bhotekoshi River flood. The flood, which occurred on Wednesday in the Rasuwa district, impacted thousands, with authorities working tirelessly to provide aid.

As of Friday morning, Nepal Police confirmed that 644 people were rescued from Rasuwa, with an additional 898 from Nuwakot and three from Dhading. The injured are receiving treatment, with 84 individuals hospitalized. However, the disaster has left a significant toll, with 28 police officers still out of contact following the event.

Over 4,300 personnel, including police and army units, have been mobilized to conduct search, rescue, and relief efforts in the affected regions. While many have been found and aided, the ongoing operations aim to locate the missing and provide support to those displaced by the flood. The full extent of the damage and the number of missing persons are still being assessed as search efforts continue.
