Nepal's Prachanda Urges Prioritizing Information Exchange with China Amidst Floods

Amidst the ongoing Rasuwa floods, Nepal's CPN coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has emphasized the critical need to prioritize information exchange with China. Speaking at an all-party meeting in Singha Durbar, Prachanda stated, “What’s happening on information exchange from the China side? Let’s make this a priority.” This call highlights the cross-border implications of natural disasters and the importance of timely, coordinated communication.

Prachanda also underscored the necessity of keeping the public informed about the evolving flood situation. He urged attendees to ensure transparency regarding potential risks and the possibilities of further flooding. In the post-disaster phase, he stressed the importance of unity, stating his readiness and that of his party cadres to mobilize for search and rescue operations and humanitarian support.

The meeting brought together leaders from various political parties, including RSP Chairman Rabi Lamichhane, Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa, CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, and RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden. Echoing Prachanda's call for unity, RSP Chairman Lamichhane advocated for setting aside party differences to focus on relief, rescue, and reconstruction. He proposed the formation of an all-party committee to facilitate government decision-making across all aspects of disaster response.
