PM Shah: Essential Relief Materials Rapidly Reaching Flood-Hit Areas

Prime Minister Balendra Shah announced that essential relief materials are being rapidly transported to areas devastated by recent floods, underscoring the swift response to the crisis.

Rescue operations commenced early, with multiple flights completed by morning and additional helicopters on standby. The Nepal Army successfully evacuated 116 people from Timure in Rasuwa, comprising 95 Nepali and 21 Indian citizens, along with 7 more Nepali citizens rescued from a tunnel.

Rescue flights had been running since 6:30 this morning, with more than 15 flights completed so far and additional helicopters on standby.

In addition to evacuations, the government is dispatching crucial supplies such as generators, portable mobile towers, medical supplies, tents, and rock/iron-cutting machines to the affected regions. Plans are underway to establish temporary mobile networks and charging facilities to aid communication in the disaster zones.

The Nepal Army’s rescue operation this morning successfully evacuated 116 people from Timure in Rasuwa, 95 Nepali and 21 Indian citizens, and that 7 more Nepali citizens were rescued from a tunnel.

PM Shah also reported that a temporary camp has been set up in Nuwakot, complete with food and water provisions. Drone surveys are in their final stages to gather comprehensive information on all affected areas, guiding further relief and rescue efforts. During helicopter evacuations, priority will be given to critically injured individuals, the elderly, women, and children.
