Nepal showcases fashion talent at South Asian summit in Sri Lanka

Nepal made its mark on the regional fashion scene at the CCWE Fashion Week and South Asian Summit 2026, hosted in Sri Lanka on July 18. Designers Bini Bajracharya of ABiR and Mukta Shrestha of Muku represented the country, presenting their collections.

The event, organized by the Ceylon Chamber of Women Entrepreneurs, brought together creatives and business leaders from across South Asia. It aimed to celebrate regional fashion, craftsmanship, and the growing power of women-led businesses. Nepal's presence was facilitated by the Fashion Designers Center (Council), Nepal, in partnership with the South Asian Women Development Forum (SAWDF).

"This is a proud moment for Nepali fashion and for women entrepreneurs across the region," stated a spokesperson for the Fashion Designers Center (Council), Nepal. "Showcasing our collections alongside designers from across South Asia is an opportunity to bring Nepali craftsmanship and design to a wider audience." The designers' local creations were met with a "warm and overwhelming reception" during the event's Grande Finale.
