During a phone interview with Channel 14, Netanyahu stated, "Something incredible happened: Iran targeted one of my sons. Iran tried to kill one of my sons." He did not, however, provide specific details regarding which son was allegedly targeted, nor did he specify when or where the purported attempt occurred.

This accusation comes amid reports that Israel's national security agency, Shin Bet, allegedly refused to provide a security detail for Gadi Eisenkot, a former army chief and a prominent political opponent of Netanyahu. Netanyahu expressed his support for Eisenkot receiving 24-hour protection, emphasizing that "it is not a luxury."

Netanyahu has two sons and one daughter. His eldest son, Yair, who is 35, has been living in Miami since early 2024, reportedly under Shin Bet protection. Meanwhile, some residents in South Florida have expressed concerns that his stay could make the area a target for attacks.

Shortly after Netanyahu's statements, Israeli journalist Amit Segal reported on Telegram that the alleged assassination attempt had been known for "months" but was subject to a gag order, suggesting a deliberate withholding of information.
